Website strategy, copywriting, and design—all in one place.

At New Shapes Studio, I combine business strategy, compelling copywriting, and visual design to create a cohesive digital presence that works as thoughtfully as you do. No more coordinating between multiple freelancers or struggling to articulate your the value of your offers. Just clear, purposeful design that tells your story and serves your business goals.

  • "[Ellen] gathered our mess of information, photos, and documents and organized it all into an aesthetically pleasing and easy-to-navigate design. She created a website on par with some of the most well-known art museums out there. We were blown away."

  • "Ellen understood my business's needs, enhanced my initial ideas, and put all the pieces together to create a site that is both visually appealing and substantive. I was impressed with the level of industry research she did to effectively capture the attention of my potential clients.”

    —Time Playfair, Playfair Appraising

  • "Ellen is professional, creative, great at meeting deadlines, and open to feedback. Her personalized how-to videos are a gold mine of information! When my 16-year-old daughter reviewed my website her words were: ‘It's lit. It's so your vibe.’ So I'd say she nailed it.”

Hey, I’m Ellen.

As a multi-hyphenate creative with big ideas, my “career path” has been winding (and I wouldn’t have it any other way). I’ve been Managing Editor for a publisher of art and photography books, a self-employed textile designer, and Director of Marketing at a creative e-commerce brand.

The through line has been bringing ambitious projects to life through clear communication, artistic vision, and creative grit. I founded New Shapes Studio to help creative entrepreneurs build the lives and businesses they dream of through beautiful, powerful, easy-to-manage websites.

When I’m not hunched over my laptop, you can find me painting shapes on walls, forgetting my coffee all over the house, and pretending to be a garbage truck with my toddler. I live in Olympia, WA and work with clients from all over.

Your website is a tool for unlocking possibility and abundance.

Building a new website is a powerful, transformative act. Your website is a place where your biggest, boldest, most brilliant ideas can take shape. Where you can grow your business with intention. Share your gifts. Call in your right-fit people. Reclaim hours in your day. And, yes, make more money. I’d love to help you get there.

New Shapes is…

  • 01

    • An attitude of playfulness that dreams beyond one-size-fits-all templates, scripts, formulas, and “shoulds” of all stripes

  • 02

    • Permission to reshape your relationship to work, time, and attention (and to use your website as a site of experimentation)

  • 03

    • A lump of digital clay

  • 04

    • A willingness to accept change as a constant in business and life—adapting, evolving, and shape-shifting whenever necessary

  • 05

    • A belief in the power of digital world-building to create deeper connection, right-fit magnetism, and bountiful enoughness

  • 06

    • That fertile place where brass tacks strategy meets artistic vision (AKA *vibes*) and amorphous ideas take clear shape

  • 07

    • An opportunity to bridge the gap between the current reality and the most beautiful future you can imagine

What have you been dreaming up?
